Gazette file photo
"ON THE COUNT OF THREE, DRAW!" These Juke Joint outlaws make their final stand this Sunday at the London Music Awards before heading for the Mexican border.

Band Name:
The Juke Joint Johnnys

Nominated For:
Best Country/Bluegrass band

Background:
The band has been together for about four years, and the London Music Awards will be their last live performance together.

Bassist Will Haas on being nominated:
"We found out we were nominated through CHRW 94.7FM. We were definitely excited and wanted to play [at the awards]."

Haas on the importance of the awards:
"I think [the awards are] really important for London. I think it is a good chance for the whole [London music scene] to get together for one cause. All of the bands are together, and it's not just [for] the competition part. We have never really had a chance to all get together and talk before."

Haas on the London music scene:
"A lot of bars are reluctant to have live music as their nightly thing. It has really changed. But I think London has a great scene."

The Juke Joint Johnnys are one of the bands that will be playing this Sunday at the first annual London Music Awards being held at Club Phoenix. It is a free event, although a canned good donation is encouraged. Doors open at 6:30 p.m..
