Head in the NDP's clouds

Re: "The NDP Make St. Paddy's day even better," Mar. 20

To the Editor:

Your vision of a St. Paddy's day with free post-secondary education is a nice dream, but it's just that – a dream. Your description of a "utopian" afternoon is the only sound prediction you make. The NDP is not in power and never will be again either provincially (Ontario) or federally. The reason for this is because they consistently present unrealistic platforms, which is what continually keeps them at the third party level.

Sure, everyone would love free post-secondary education, however, do you not think that if it was at all possible, the Conservative government would have made it a reality? How does the NDP expect to find funding for post-secondary education in Ontario? Through increased taxes (which the NDP has previously criticized the Progressive Conservatives for)?

You are also na•ve to think inflation will not happen to $1 beers at The Spoke, considering the money has to come from somewhere to pay for your education. Get your head out of the clouds. Stop living in a dream world and enjoy the advantages of having an honest and realistic Conservative party governing our province.
