Ballers fall to Golden Gaels

On a night when the Western Mustangs' women's basketball team was able to blow their competition out of the water in the second half, their male counterparts were left gasping for air.

Power play "powers" Western to victory

The last time the Western Mustangs men's hockey team met the Laurier Golden Hawks in Ontario University Athletics action, the scorekeeper had his hands full recording goals as Western managed to tally 15.

What previous hockey experience do you have?
I've played hockey since I was six years old and always at the centre forward position. When I was 16 I was drafted from Toronto to the London Knights. I finished high school here in London and lived with billets (families that get paid to house Ontario Hockey League players) for four years. This gave me lots of opportunities and it also gave [Western coach] Clarke [Singer] a chance to see me play.

The Western Mustangs' men's hockey season is in full swing. Western has six wins and two losses, placing them in second in the West Division and fifth in the Canadian Interuniversity Sport top ten.
