Men's Soccer

The Western men's soccer team picked it up when it counted the most this year. In the regular season, the men won seven games, lost one and tied two. However, it almost seemed these men were saving their energy for the Ontario University Athletics finals. The Mustangs brought home gold from Kingston after beating the Waterloo Warriors 3-0.

Travelling to Montreal to play the best in Canada, the Mustangs represented Western well. They tied their first game against Alberta 1-1, then eliminated Concordia 2-1 to move into the bronze medal game. During their bronze medal match, an injury epidemic broke lose on the Western bench, compelling the men to shuffle their line-up, including using a midfielder in goal. The Mustangs placed fourth overall in the country.

Goaltender Roberto Caballero Jr. received first team All-Canadian honours and teammate Chris Stefanazzi received second team All-Canadian status.

Success-O-Meter Score: 8/10
