Women's rugby team wins OUA Championship

The Western Mustangs women's rugby team proved themselves the best in the province, defeating the Waterloo Warriors by a score of 19-5 to win the 2003 Ontario University Athletics crown on Saturday.


Mustangs blank Warriors 2-0

On Sunday afternoon, the No. 1 ranked Western woman's soccer team shattered the playoff dreams of the Waterloo Warriors at the Brescia Fields, besting them by a score of 2-0.


'Stangs quiet rabid fans

With tensions fuming and pots banging, the men's soccer team advanced to the final four, beating the Laurentian Voyageurs on Sunday 2-0 at the Brescia Fields.


Maple Leaf Gardens deserves better

Conn Smythe must be spinning in his grave.

The former coach, general manager and owner of the Toronto Maple Leafs single-handedly made the team into what it is today. He took a team which in 1927 was on the brink of moving to Philadelphia and transformed them into one of the most storied franchises in sports.
