SPORTS

Once upon a time...

Realizing the need to wax nostalgic, Gazette sports presents the first of a year-long series of childhood flashbacks to relive the sporting goodness brought to us through video games, films and TV shows centered around sports. Enjoy.

Mustangs seek revenge on Gaels

It won't be hard for the Western Mustangs football team to get motivated for Saturday's game against the Queen's Golden Gaels (2-0) at TD Waterhouse Stadium at 2 p.m.

Outside the Western gates:
We don't give the middle finger!

Below is what happened in the world of professional sports last week:

Detroit Tigers pitcher Mike Maroth became the first pitcher since Brian Kingman in 1980 to lose 20 games in an MLB season. The loss came in an 8-6 loss to the Blue Jays on Friday night.

Letters from the edge

In lieu of e-mail, letter writing sent through the age-old process of mailing has all but disappeared. In homage to pigeons and mail people (equality my friends), we at The Gazette's sports department decided each week we would send a letter to a worthy recipient.
