Tyler Done's closing remarks

Canadian Idol has generated quite the buzz over the past few months. We caught up with former Idol competitor Tyler Done once more to get a few of his final thoughts on the conclusion of Canadian Idol.

Tyler on the Idol winner:

I just finished watching the finale and I am so happy right now for Ryan. My family and I have been rooting for Ryan since I left Toronto. I was lucky to be able to live with Ryan for a good portion of the summer and I strongly believe Canada picked a great Idol.

On the show Jake Gold quoted: "Many artists make careers out of selling concert tickets, not just albums." This is so true and Ryan will entertain anyone who watches him. Having lived with him, I can honestly say he is the same person on stage as he is off. He is a genuinely nice guy who cares for everyone around him. [He will] represent our country with his talent and class.

On the final shows:

This week's shows blew me away. I actually enjoyed the finale as much as any of the American or U.K. Idol finals. Both guys were so great and sang perfect songs for their voices. I have to say though, as good as Gary was (even singing my favourite song - "To Love Somebody"), that Ryan shone on stage and his emotion flowed through each song he sang. He has altered his style and gotten so confident and all these improvements have made him the perfect Idol.

I think Gary and Ryan both proved this week, if not before, that they deserved to be there in the finale. I think the headline is perfect that Zack Werner suggested: "W8er Boy Wins Canadian Idol."
