ARTS & ENTERTAINMENT

IN BRIEF

Another Juno Awards ceremony went down in history on Sunday, this time in the giant mall town of Edmonton. The city is also situated in the home province of Nickelback, so you should be able to smell where the awards were going — and it frighteningly reeks.

Adding to the stink was Sam Roberts, who apparently needed reminders about how “great” he is.

But there were highlights. Gruff, yet dashing, hip-hopper Buck 65 picked up Best Alternative Album, while suave crooner Michael Buble won Best New Artist — both received their awards the night before in ceremonies the industry doesn’t think people care about.

Or how about that glowing highlight, the spotlight that made aging Alice Cooper look tanned, while making Anne Murray look hot?

But the talk of the town is surely host Alanis Morissette, who performed unfunny sketches and bared all in a nudie suit, all with a joyous manner that matched her new Paige Davis hairdo.
