Website of the Week

If you’re planning to take a trip this slack week, be aware — be very aware!

The University of Nevada hosts a wacky web page on the world of travel and entertainment, with links to the most daft places around the planet. The site has an endless list that allows you to research the weirdest and shadiest places — many of which you wouldn’t want to visit. For example, a sign at a Budapest zoo asks, “Please do not feed the animals. If you have any suitable food give it to the guard on duty.” Sounds a little sketchy.

Do not expect a symphony of flavours from the recipe section. One can search through various crazy cookbooks, like The Mafia Cookbook and The Biker’s Cookbook, for some original, yet likely dissatisfying recipes. Who wouldn’t want to try the mashed potato mountain that looks like it’s barricaded by slimy hot dogs?

You can also read quirky stories or discover some hilarious attractions like “Bad cookie,” “Extreme bartending” and “Pez Museum.”

So if you feel like ruining your appetite, or just getting a good laugh, give this site a go.
