Let Western take credit for your intelligence
Do you know any outstanding graduating buddies? Then check this out.

Western’s department of communications and public affairs is searching for profiles on extraordinary students who will be graduating at the upcoming spring convocation.

“We are looking for graduates who have triumphed over obstacles, excel at academics, athletics and extracurricular activities, and [to] put them in stories,” explained Marcia Steyaert, Western’s associate director of media relations.

The program takes place twice a year — during spring and fall convocation and has been ongoing for several years. “We would like to end the [search] before students go back home,” she said. “We usually pick four to seven qualified graduates from different faculties and phone them for an interview.”

Nominations can be made by sending a candidate’s name and their brief biographical information, including a contact number, by e-mail to Christine Roulston at, or by mail to Stevenson-Lawson Building Rm. 355.
