Mustang Alley to phase out smokes by 2010

Students could now have only two more years to purchase cigarettes from Mustang Alley, as the University Students’ Council debated the result of the recent plebiscite last night.

The debate stems from science councillor Fred Wu’s motion before council last November protesting the USC convenience store’s sale of cigarettes. (read more)

Ontario Premier Dalton McGuinty announced Tuesday his government’s first budget since the provincial election in fall. Although it provides some assistance to students, there is “room for improvement,” according to student groups. (read more)

Miss G_ will go down in herstory

After three years of campaigning for gender education in Ontario high schools, the Miss G__ Project is finally seeing some results.

The Miss G__ Project began in 2005, as the pet project of four Western students: Sarah Ghabrial, Sheetal Rawal, Dilina Mohan and Lara Sckordoff. (read more)
