Starting today, undergraduate students will be voting on the fate of the bus pass.

In the second referendum of the year, students are being asked to choose whether to keep the London Transit Commission bus pass. (read more)

Canadian researchers reprogram skin cells

Toronto researchers, led by Andras Nagy at Mount Sinai Hospital, have uncovered an alternative method for transforming human skin cells into stem cells.

Previous methods used viruses to insert genes from stem cells into mature adult skin cells, but had many negative potential side effects " including cancer. (read more)

Municipalities federation advocates water bottle ban

Buying bottled water at municipal facilities throughout Canada may become difficult following a resolution by the Federation of Canadian Municipalities.

The non-binding resolution, passed last Saturday, called for municipalities to move towards removing bottled water from their facilities. (read more)
