“What a shithole this is.” These are the words that began an enjoyable evening of laughs at Centennial Hall from Just For Laughs comic, Jeremy Hotz.

Disturbing facts like this make it challenging for the average North American to look past the tragedy of the event, but with his latest documentary film Rwanda: Hope Rises, Canadian filmmaker Trevor Meier provides a more hopeful perspective of the country.
