Last week, the University Students’ Council rejected a motion to hold a student referendum on whether or not to help fund Western’s Student Refugee Program with a 22-cent student fee. SRP sponsors refugee students so they can attend Canadian post-secondary institutions. (read more)

To the Editor:
A space once occupied by a daily witty diversion has been replaced with mazes in various forms such as an egg, a car and a bow-loving teddy bear. Is this the most creative The Gazette staff can be or has Brice Hall left us to join “The Buried Life”?

Are these merely attempts to fill space until his hopeful return? Since the beginning of the semester I have eagerly opened each issue of The Gazette only to be disappointed by the disappearance of The Gazette’s best content this year. (read more)

Rebecca Zener should read our national anthem closer before refusing to sing it.

Of the three “religious references” she objects to, only “God keep our land” is cause for concern, though it’s purposefully and properly vague. (read more)
