Students in the marketing department at Illinois State University are now required to attend classes in “business casual attire” or risk their grades.

ISU defends the policy on the basis the school is encouraging professionalism and preparing students for the working world; it claims students have been sent home from internships for inappropriate attire. (read more)

To the editor:
This is my first year as a USC councillor. As such, I defer to the wisdom of the mob.

For this past meeting, I read the mixed-member proportional representation (MMP) endorsement motion (posted two days beforehand) and became well read on the topic of electoral reform in Ontario by consulting reputable Internet sources and several of my constituents. (read more)

If recent history is any guide, less than 40 per cent of 18 to 24-year-olds will bother voting come Election Day on Oct. 10. Afterwards, the pundits and columnists will once again be outraged by our lack of participation. (read more)
