After soundly defeating its division rivals the York Lions 3-0 on Friday night, the Western men’s volleyball team moved on to the University of Toronto Varsity Blues, also besting them 3-0.

The pair of wins couldn’t be more important to the squad, currently occupying fourth place in Ontario University Athletics, a highly-competitive league where only the top six teams make the playoffs. (read more)

The women’s volleyball team demonstrated it was the big kid on the block in its easy dispatching of the York Lions at Alumni Hall Friday night.

Marking its 11th consecutive win, the team moved up to second place in the Ontario University Athletics West division standings. (read more)

It was a game of missed opportunities for the Mustangs men’s hockey team on Thursday night, as the Waterloo Warriors squeaked out a 4-3 victory at Thompson Arena.

Western only capitalized on one of its nine power play opportunities, while the Warriors scored twice with the man advantage. (read more)

College football culture impressive

Over the holidays, I was asked to make a pit stop in Toronto to attend the International Bowl at the Rogers Centre with four crazy football fans.

Now, football is not my thing. I can’t play, I don’t know most of the rules, and I have trouble following the game. (read more)
