Mustangs men's hockey

This past Saturday night, Western Mustangs right wing Jeff Martens ended a game that seemed like it would never end.

In what turned into an intense, physical matchup with the Laurier Golden Hawks, Martens scored the winning goal in the sixth round of the shootout, to complete the men’s hockey team’s 6-5 comeback victory at Thompson Arena. (read more)

Mustangs men's basketball

Calling it sloppy would be an understatement.

The men’s basketball team survived a lacklustre first half to defeat the Laurier Golden Hawks 73-60 in front of a near-packed Alumni Hall.

The Hawks lulled the ’Stangs into a gritty defensive battle through the first half. (read more)
