A Sneaker

Since the ’80s, sneaker culture has exploded. Nike, Adidas, Puma, Ice Creams, Bape, Greedy Genius, Reebok, Alife and numerous other shoe companies produce so many collectable kicks, it’s impossible for even the most style-savvy students to keep up with the latest sneaker-de-choix.

Need help? Visit websites like Hypebeast.com and Nikeskateboarding.org. Updated a couple times a day, these sites churn out all the latest information on urban innovations in the sneaker world.

Hype Beast links numerous blogs where avid sneaker-heads can help each other hunt for the latest exclusive releases. You can peruse the blogs, post on the forums and read interviews with artists, designers and your favourite rappers.

Nikeskateboarding.org " not to be confused with Nike SB’s official page " hosts several forums and the Dunktionary. The Dunktionary is an up-to-date collection of Nike SB’s releases. It includes the date it was released and the story behind its creation. The site also offers a Nike exchange, with auctions running at every hour, and a guide for spotting knock-offs.

With several pricey items littering these sites, you’ll find yourself broke pretty quickly if you indulge every whim. Be careful “I want” doesn’t turn into “I need.” If you’re dreaming of the latest Crooks & Castles or Married To The Mob apparel, don’t worry " it happens to everyone.

Although the sites won’t tell you where to cop the threads " there’s a reason these kicks are exclusive " you’ll be the first to know when they’re gonna drop. Just don’t lose your temper if you can’t find those St. Patty’s Day Reeboks in your size.
