SOMEONE GET A HOSE BECAUSE WE'RE SETTING THIS PLACE ON FIRE. Expect glitz, glamour, and runway fashion trends galore at tomorrow's Charity Ball.

It’s not everyday we get invited to a ball. So when it comes time to think about what to wear to a formal event, things can get difficult.

The following is everything you need to find a great last minute look for tomorrow’s Elegance & Ice Charity Ball. Whether you need a complete outfit or just some accessories, this formal fashion guide will ensure your night is the best yet.

First, and most important, is the dress. This season’s trends are sure to impress your Charity Ball date.

The V-Neck has gotten wider this season. Instead of long, narrow Vs that show off a lot of chest, we are seeing wide cuts that start and end at the edges of the shoulder. This look is much classier than its preceding style.

Plunging back lines are also very popular as showing off a defined back is very hot now. If exposing your back means showing off some tattoos, try and match its colours to what you are wearing.

Jewel tones like purple, green, or royal blue are the best colour choices. Even red is one of the hottest colours coming off the spring 2008 runway. Choose this colour if you want to be up to date with the latest in fashion trends or if you simply want to make an unforgettable appearance.

Metallics dominated the winter runways this year. To formalize the look, choose a simple dress in a silver or gold-toned material. If an entire dress seems like too much, use these shades in your eye shadow, nail polish, or shoes to add some drama to your evening look.

Strapless dresses are among the most popular formal attire. Stores carry a variety of styles, but the most common design has a high waistline under the bust with a flowing skirt. This style is good for girls of all body types since it either shows off an hourglass shape or hides the lower half of a pear-shaped figure. Hourglass girls can opt for a flattering shorter version and pear-shaped ladies should opt for a knee-length dress.

The classic little black dress is a great option if you need to get dressed up last minute. It’s simple, sexy and chic. Most girls own a pair of black shoes, making the outfit stress-free. For something more unique, find a dress with a black lace overlay.

Sheer is here, and it’s not going away. Some of trendiest looks for the spring are sheer overlays or transparent panels in the sides or back of dresses. For a formal event however, be careful not to overdo it since too much see-through looks trashy.

Large jeweled accessories are very trendy right now. Big bracelets, big rings or chunky jewels on the neckline are an easy way to add some style to your look. For formal events, keep chunky accessories to a minimum.

London has a variety of stores to choose from that can satisfy your every Charity Ball need. Laura Ashley offers dresses for all body shapes and has a wide variety of dress options to choose from. This store tends to be pricy, so if you’re on a budget you might want to look elsewhere.

Le Château is a good option for mid-priced dresses. They have a great variety of styles and colours to choose from. If you’re looking for a bold dress, this is the place to go first. Its racks of accessories and shoes mean one-stop shopping for everything you need.
