University Students’ Council presidential candidate Chris Reynolds feels despite his leadership resumé, he’s just an average student.

While Reynolds has a large number of USC members on his campaign team, his goal is to involve students who typically don’t take part in student politics.

“While we do have a lot of USC leaders on our team and we have a good majority of council in addition to average students behind us, we’re really going to reach out to students out there who aren’t involved,” Reynolds said.

Reynolds feels his personality and skills fit the position.

“At the end of the day, I was confident I would be the right choice. After looking at the [USC long-term plan “Built to Lead”] and the direction Council was going, I was certain my skill set would fit with my experience as a communicator.”

Reynolds said his ability to remain focused on producing results and building a team make him stand out from his competitors.

Reynolds had few criticisms of current council, though he said the USC’s approval of The Wave’s renovations were made without enough consultation with councillors " a common theme in his platform.
