Urgent need for Blood Donors

Tuesday, April 7th, 2009

Want to be a hero but don’t feel like wearing tights or going through the trouble of keeping a secret identity? Skip all that and save a life by donating blood.

The Canadian Blood Services agency is facing a summer shortage of blood donors across the country. This is especially important for donors who have an O-negative blood type â€" their blood can be used for patients of all blood types.

Over the next week, Canadian Blood Services will need an additional 2,000 donations to help meet the blood needs of patients around the country.

Students, faculty and staff at Western can donate blood at the University Community Centre’s Student Health Services every Monday and Tuesday from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Walk-ins are always welcome.
