PrideWestern elects new executives
After a rocky couple of months involving several executive resignations, it appears a wounded PrideWestern is finally on the road to recovery.

On Monday night, PrideWestern’s annual general meeting saw the election of eight new executive members.

Several PrideWestern executives, including co-ordinator Jamie East, resigned for personal reasons, a lack of leadership and organization and the service’s lack of a clear mandate last month.

James Arthurs, VP-campus issues for the USC, assumed administrative control of the service prior to the election.

Second-year theology and philosophy student and former director of finance Chelsea Cameron will lead as PrideWestern’s co-ordinator.

Next year’s PrideWestern executive will include finance and administration director Jeffery Lindquist, social directors Chase Crawford and Scott Hayles, communication directors Eaton Kwan and Jessica Surtees, external affairs co-ordinator Rebecca Welbourne, and first-year students director Josh Morrison.

The student-run service, which is devoted to supporting LGBTTQ2 issues on campus, is still looking for an Ally Western network coordinator and an activism director.
