To the Editor:
In last Wednesday’s Gazette, page three introduced next year’s “front office” members: Deputy Editor Brice Hall, Editor-in-Chief Allison Buchan-Terrell and Managing Editor James Hayes. While your captions usually generate backlash for being offensive or overly rude, I have a different problem with it. The sentence “...should offer intelligence, wit and hopefully less fart jokes” should have read, “...should offer intelligence, wit, and fewer fart jokes.” I thought I had gotten over being shocked by how few students know how to use proper grammar, but I am still disappointed that a university newspaper screwed up “less” and “fewer.” Hopefully, next year’s editors will do a better job at performing their jobs as editor.

Ed Note: Called out by a first-year...ouch. Want a job at The Gazette, Eliza?

But, since we’re playing this game, your letter should have read, “I have a different problem with them,” not “with it,” and “performing their jobs as editors,” not “as editor.”
