To the editor:
The message “Hate is not a family value” is more than apt.

Members of the LGBTQ community endure hate in their everyday lives. Some are abandoned by their families, some are treated poorly at work and some get beaten up or even killed. God forbid the community walks down a road to celebrate and support each other without some creep holding a sign with violently hateful messages who spits at their feet.

Then the creep accuses homosexuals of ruining “family values,” while they teach their kids to throw stones.

Homophobic people ARE hateful " that is what defines homophobia. When they act in hateful ways, their actions are supposed to be punished according to Canada’s hate crime legislation, but many are not because homophobia is present in our legal bodies.

And after all this, when the LGBTQ community asks the world to please stop hating them, we have to read some foolish letter published that tells them to stop being so controversial.
