To the editor:
I think that it is important to clear up a factual error with your article. The number that Paul Berton cited for The London Free Press’ online readership is a third party audited count of the number of unique visitors to the web site in any given month, not views. Lfpress.com receives over 200,000 unique visitors each month, in a city of just over 350,000. In fact according to comScore " one of the major online audit bureaus in North America " we have one of the highest market penetrations of our digital product of any news outlet in Canada. The actual number of page views is in excess of six million per month.

In addition to the measure of print and website readership, in this new media era one must also look at the other platforms upon which news is being delivered. The London Free Press now has hundreds of paying subscribers to our new digital e-Edition as well as over a thousand followers across the various Twitter accounts we maintain, including @lfpress, @SteveatLFPress, @PJatLFPress, @MikeatLFPress, @KateatLFPress and @DanatLFPress. These social media tools are allowing us to reach out to a whole new, predominantly younger audience.
