Re: “MLB preview: What to expect in the NL”

To the Editor:
I enjoyed your baseball preview, especially your nickname for [Albert “I might be 35”] Pujols. I was shocked, however, that you think the Phillies don’t have pitching.

Adam Eaton is decent; Freddy Garcia was 17-9 with 216 innings pitched; Cole Hamels is one of the better young pitchers in the game (4.08 ERA last year); Jamie Moyer is always good for 10 wins and 210 IP; Jon Leiber isn’t so bad and Brett Myers was 12-7/ 3.91 ERA/198 IP. That’s six decent starters.

I admit its bullpen is shaky, but you can’t say this team has no pitching. In fact, it probably has one of baseball’s 10 best rotations.

Overall, though, I liked your preview.
