Tuesday, April 7th, 2009

On Sept. 18, the John Labatt Centre, typically home of the OHL’s London Knights, will host the Philadelphia Flyers and the Ottawa Senators, who are facing off in a preseason game. This marks the first time in four visits to London that the Flyers will play a Canadian team.

The Flyers deepened their line-up this off-season by acquiring forwards Daniel Briere and Scott Hartnell and defenceman Jason Smith and Kimmo Timonen. Additionally, the team boasts London-native Jeff Carter and veterans Simon Gagne, Martin Biron and Mike Knuble.

The Senators enter the preseason after completing the best season in the club’s history, despite losing in the Stanley Cup final to the Anaheim Ducks. The Senators are led by Jason Spezza, Dany Heatley and Daniel Alfredsson.
