Update: Summer 2012
We're thrilled to announce that our Bike Workshop will now be open Monday through Thursday, 3 - 7 pm giving you lots of time to get your bike purring. We continue to offer purple bike rentals as bikes are repaired and checked by our mechanics; demand for this service far exceeds supply and we do not have a waiting list.
Purple bikes will be hosting a Bike Clinic in which participants will be taught basic bike maintenance skills and will be given the opportunity to try repair techniques out themselves on their own or one of our bikes. The Clinic will be held Wednesday May 30th from 6:00 to 8:30 in our shop. RSVP if you plan to attend as spots are limited!

Summer 2012 Operations
Biking season is back and so are the purple bikes! We will be renting out purple bikes as they are repaired and checked by our mechanics. Unfortunately demand for this service exceeds supply and we do not have a waiting list. Our Bike Workshop is open for you to fix your own bike Monday through Thursday, 5 to 7 pm.

Shorter Autumn - Winter hours
The inclement weather has led to lower demand for our services. Consequently, the hours of opening for our workshop have been reduced to Monday - Thursday from 5 - 7pm.
Who We Are
The Purple Bikes group promotes cycling at the University of Western Ontario and at large in the London community. We hold that cycling is practical in cities where most destinations are in close proximity. Cycling keeps our air clean, bodies healthy and community lively. We are committed to fostering and serving the cycling community.
What We Do
Bike Workshop
The workshop is where we remodel our bikes for bikeshare and it is also open to the public so they can do their own repairs. With a $5/term workshop membership, you gain access to our tools and inventory where you can purchase new and used parts for your bike. Anyone interested in learning about fixing bicycles is invited to volunteer with us; you’ll get hands on experience.
Bike Rentals
Purple Bikes offers a bike rental service, giving people the opportunity to commute to and around campus and tour the city on a bike. Fortunately, London has many kilometers of beautiful multi-use paths along the Thames River. Bike rentals are available for different lengths of time; see the Bike Rentals page for details.
