USC Club Awards Recipients

The University Students' Council has begun recognizing clubs and club executive members for their accomplishments throughout the year. These awards are presented at the annual USC Clubs Gala held at the end of the academic year.

Congratulations to all recipients - it is because of your hard work and dedication that the USC Clubs Community is such a huge part of contributing to the student experience at Western! The USC truly appreciates all of the hard work that all of you put towards your clubs throughout the year. Thank you for your energy, enthusiasm and dedication!

 

2010-2011 Club Award Recipients

Club of the Year - Muslim Students' Association


Throughout the 2010-2011 academic year, the Muslim Students Association has demonstrated a dedication to improving the student experience at UWO.  Participation in the Ethno-cultural services, numerous cultural events, speakers, social activities and the creation of “Holy Book Day” have made this club stand out amongst others in the Clubs Community.

New Club of the Year - Western Forex Association


As a new club in September 2010, the Western Forex Association has proven to be a great new addition to the Clubs Community.  Standing out among other clubs with similar ideas, they have been able to distinguish themselves and build a solid foundation to keep them thriving for years to come.

Club President of the Year - Monica Mantenuto (Dance Force)

As the president of a very active club, Monica has been able to show that she is capable of dealing with a host of issues, ranging from a lack of rehearsal space to organizing an annual year-end show put on by the members of the club. Monica has established herself as a strong leader in the USC Clubs Community.

Club Executive Member of the Year - Daisy Sun (Canadian Asian International Students' Association)


As the Executive Director of the Annual CAISA Fashion Show, Daisy worked tirelessly to ensure that the CAISA Fashion Show continued to be a success. Her strong effort, positive attitude, attention to detail, ability to meet deadlines and committment to working diligently with Student Life Staff are just a few of the great qualities that Daisy possesses.


Student Life Excellence Award - Western Snowboarding Federation


Despite a few rough patches in September, the Western Snowboard Federation was been able to rebound and have an extremely successful year! The commitment, energy and enthusiasm of the 2010-2011 executive team is a testament to their dedication to the club and sport. The Student Life department would like to recognize their efforts and congratulate them on their achievements accomplished this past year and wish for their continued success in years to come.
